Crossroads Podcast. We'll be right back For those who want to be in the know. Who's your daddy? Good morning, crossroads.

Steven Killfoil:

On the show today we have a very special guest, pen-named author, Stefan McDermott. I want to thank you, Stefan, for coming on the show today.

Stefan McDermott:

Well, you're welcome.

Steven Killfoil:

Why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself and your new book, achieving Optimal Brain Health with Nutrition?

Stefan McDermott:

Certainly, Steven. Achieve Optimal Brain Health with Nutrition is a book that I've recently completed and it will be scheduled to launch out on Amazon March 1st, hopefully, if everything goes right. It is a book that compiled over about 15 years of experience in natural health. It's an easy-to-follow holistic guide to help boost memory, mental clarity and cognitive function, with recipes and examples anyone can use daily. I've broken it out into basically 12 different chapters addressing the various needs understanding the gut-brain connection, essential nutrients for the brain health, brain boosting foods and recipes are included in this book some dietary strategies for specific mental health conditions, the science behind nutritional psychiatry, holistic lifestyle changes for the brain health, overcoming common barriers to healthy eating, personal success stories and case studies, interactive tools and resources, expert opinions and scientific backing and some preventative health and long-term strategies. And finally, in the 12th chapter, beyond the plate, integrating the mind and the body To achieve clearer thinking and enhance mental wellness through the food you eat, even if you've tried everything else, is a challenge that a lot of us have these days.

Steven Killfoil:

Yeah, I know what you mean Exactly. Are you often confused by conflicting nutritional information?

Stefan McDermott:

Oh, yeah, yes, me too. Have you been seeking natural remedies to enhance mental clarity and emotional stability but found it hard to maintain a satisfying diet? Or do you aim to embrace a healthier lifestyle through nutrition but struggle to discern what's truly beneficial for brain health? This is what inspired me to write the book. I mean, after all, hippocrates was the one who said let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. My, my, my. How far we have strayed from that simple truth. But you're not alone. Many health-conscious individuals just like you grapple with similar challenges. But there's a way to cut through the noise and harness the Power of Nutrition for Optimal Brain Health. Inside this easy-to-follow guide, you will uncover essential nutrients that play a pivotal role in boosting mental clarity and emotional health. The scientifically-backed gut-brain connection that can revolutionize your approach to mental wellness. That can revolutionize your approach to mental wellness. There's five easy meals designed specifically to enhance cognitive function, how specific vitamins and minerals can impact your brain's health, and how to ensure you're getting enough, because, as you all know, the standard American diet truly is sad. Also, it gives you some practical insights into biohacking your way to clarity with food, and much, much more. It's normal to feel skepticism regarding new dietary approaches, specifically if past experiences didn't yield the results you had hoped for. This book delivers scientifically supported strategies that aren't about giving up your favorite foods, but rather about balancing and enhancing your dietary habits. You don't need hours and hours of preparation or a hefty grocery bill, just the willingness to adopt a few key changes highlighted in my book. I guarantee it will help you for sure.

Steven Killfoil:

Well, what made you decide to publish a book in the first place?

Stefan McDermott:

Well, I'm glad you asked. You know, ironically, I had always wanted to write a book. I just didn't really know how to go about it. I had consulted with a lot of friends who had successfully published books but, to my dismay, had found out the ups and downs and expenses that took place for them, and it wasn't something that I was willing to go into. It wasn't until I came across McKelson twins with a AIA publishing program that made this journey possible and made this book come to fruition. I love those guys. They really have a program that is second to none. And if you're out there and you're an aspiring author and you have some great ideas and just don't know where to get started, I suggest you look up AIAPublishingcom and begin your journey and get it done. It's worth it.

Steven Killfoil:

Well, what were some of the challenges you faced when starting?

Stefan McDermott:

Well, the challenges that I faced getting started with this book, first and foremost, were where the hell do you start? And the teachings and classes that they offer at AIA Publishing help you organize, structuralize and get it done. They actually have a challenge, a seven-day challenge, where you can put together a book in seven days. Hey, I mean, that's going to be my next book, seven-day book. Looking forward to the challenge and now that I know how to do it, the second book will be much easier than the first, the first book. Oh wow, time constraints, because working a job and trying to do this work at the same time is challenging in itself, but I managed to organize my time thanks to the structures that we were taught in AIA Publishing School.

Steven Killfoil:

So how did you choose your topic, Brain health?

Stefan McDermott:

Well, that was part of one of the lessons that we had in the AIA publishing platform. You want to pick a topic that obviously, if you're going to publish a book, you're going to want it to make some money. Yes, you have a passion. Yes, you want to share out of the world, but also you want to make some money. Well, they have a concept thing called proof of concept, and they teach you how to do this and that you just need to go to the aiacom and enroll yourself and they will show you how to do exactly that. So brain health was a topic that I had the proof of concept on, and it showed to be a very lucrative one. Also just fortunately happened to be an area of which I have some expertise in, so hence the book was born.

Steven Killfoil:

Do you have any more books for us in the future?

Stefan McDermott:

Absolutely, I didn't join AIA Publishing Academy to play around. This is something that I'm passionate about, and I'm looking forward to producing many more books in the future as I build this business up. My hopes are to eventually replace my full-time job with writing books exclusively and I am excited and looking very forward to doing that and anybody that has this same desire. Again, I can't emphasize it more AIA publishing. com. You won't be disappointed.

Steven Killfoil:

What words of encouragement do you have for aspiring writers?

Stefan McDermott:

Well, Steven, like I've been saying all along, AIA Publishing got me on track. I always had the passion and I wanted to write a book. I just didn't know how there are so many people out there saying, well, mind map this or do that, or go chat GP this and AI that and just, oh my gosh, a plethora of confusing knowledge. The Mikkelsen twins have really nailed it and knocked it out of the ballpark. They're not only doing it, they're living it. They're living the dream and they want to share that with everybody. So, as I say to all aspiring writers out there, go to AIAPublishing. com and start your journey. You won't be disappointed, definitely.

Steven Killfoil:

Well, how did you get started in natural health?

Stefan McDermott:

Oh, let's see, I got to go back about 15 years and we were consulting with a doctor whom he was. He was doing some research and studies at a university. He was knowledgeable in in natural health but due to his nature and studies and research, he really didn't have time to delve into that. So he introduced me and my wife to this natural health person and, through her and the education systems that were provided for by the company that she works for, we managed to build up a pretty good repertoire of natural health knowledge Foods, vitamins, supplements, herbs, oils. We went into it very deep and now it's time to give back. Now it's time to share with the world our experiences and what we have applied all these years experience into, and we're putting it into book format so we can share it with the world, because anybody can do this honestly. It's just a matter of you have to one, you have to want to be more healthy. You choose to be healthy or stay sick. That's the bottom line. There is no gray area in this. You either are or you are not. You either believe in the natural, holistic approach or you're going to swallow the pills of the pharmaceutical hypnotized doctors and you'll have a shorter lifespan than I. That I can guarantee you. I chose to take the natural path, as I seen what the pharmaceutical industry did to my family it killed my mother. My father's not doing too good and, tragically enough, like my good friend told me, not everybody's going to get on board with this. You just got to love them where they're at, and that is so true, so I share it with as many people as I can, and ultimately, in the end, it's their choice. They can either take control and do something about it, or you know you. All you have to do is pick up a newspaper and see what's going on. That's all I have to say about natural health. Just do it, definitely.

Steven Killfoil:

Well, is there anything else that you might like to add to tell us about yourself?

Stefan McDermott:

Well, I'm originally from the Midwest, as you can tell by my name, pen-named I it to honor my heritage. I have a very good heritage of Prussian and Irish, so my pen name reflects that, with Stefan and the Irish McDermott. Pen names are a great thing to have, so I'm using it and I encourage anybody else out there that's wanting to write books to do the same. It just it. It's not that you're trying to hide anything, it's just a fresh start and a lot of authors use pen names, so I'll leave it at that.

Steven Killfoil:

So, Stefan, um, how, how would somebody be able to reach out to you at this time for your book?

Stefan McDermott:

Okay, well, I have an email. It is stefan@stefanmcdermott. com, that's S-T-E-F-A-N-M-C-D-E-R-M-O-T-T dot com. So, stefan@stefanmcdermott. com, you can reach out to me via email. I am taking requests. So if you would like to have a copy of my book, I'll be happy to send you a free copy so you can look at it, review it and then, when it launches out on Amazon, I'll let you know when that is, and you can also obtain an actual, free electronic copy of that book, and I would only ask that you would put your honest review up there on Amazon. We thank you for that and that's the best way to get in touch with me. Right now my team's still working on building my Facebook page out and all those other goodies that go along with this publishing journey.

Steven Killfoil:
